PRIVATE ART TUITION @waxpigeon is shaped around the person, not a template. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to the individual — whether that means strengthening drawing foundations, developing a portfolio, exploring printmaking processes, or simply finding confidence and enjoyment in making. Teaching is calm, encouraging, and hands-on, with clear demonstrations and practical guidance that help learners grow at their own pace while still feeling challenged and inspired.


PRIMARY

(KS1–KS2 Ages 4-11)

Gentle, confidence-building sessions that nurture curiosity, imagination, and careful looking. Young artists are guided through playful but purposeful making — learning to notice detail, experiment with materials, and trust their ideas in a relaxed, encouraging studio atmosphere.

SECONDARY, Post-16 & Adults

(KS3–KS4 Ages 11-16)

Structured, skill-rich sessions for learners ready to deepen their practice. Teaching focuses on strengthening technique, refining visual language, and building thoughtful, personal work — whether for coursework, portfolios, or independent artistic development. Sessions balance discipline with exploration, so progress feels both purposeful and creatively alive.

Studio Notes

  • Sessions are held in the studio unless arranged otherwise.
  • ALL materials are included unless stated.
  • Feel free to bring your own favourite materials, sketchbooks and/or portfolios.
  • Light refreshments provided; juice, tea or coffee.
  • Primary (KS1–KS2, ages 4–11) sessions are a maximum of 2 hours. Block bookings are delivered as a series of 1–2 hour sessions scheduled over time.
  • Secondary, Post-16 & Adult block bookings are flexible in length, with session durations arranged in advance to suit both the learner and the studio.
